“His Voice Today”

🔸️ God who makes us to have rest! 🔸️

It can be said that our spiritual condition depends on our physical condition, to some extent. We read about Elijah. He brought fire and rain from the sky through his prayer! After this event, he became very tired and prayed to God to take his life. See, the man who bravely stood before the 850 false prophets, fled in fear of the threat of a woman named Jezebel! (1King 18, 19). How it could be? Elijah ate and survived on his own for over three years. All of his body strength was completely weakened by the climax event that happened on Mount Carmel.

God did not make a sermon to Elijah, who was sitting under a broom plant with tired! Not at all!! Instead, God sent an angel and gave him some hot bread and water. Elijah ate; he drank; he slept! As soon as he woke up, God gave him hot bread and water again!! (1King 19:1-8).

God knew that Elijah had become tired and lost his strength. All he needed then was good nutrition… not teaching! God knew that too. Today we too need good food and rest, not long sermons from time to time.

Today, some Christians have a curious spiritual view of their bodies. They say very seriously, “I want to shine for God.” They vigorously doing ‘ministries’ in the morning, afternoon and night. They are doing this seven days a week…. every week. Then they get tired and falling down! The actions of such people are the acts of human zeal. Their fatigue is not a spiritual cause, but a physical one. Seeing such people, Lord Jesus need to say “Come, let us go alone and get some rest!” (Mark 6:31).

Prayer:
Our Loving Father! We are amazed at Your love for helping us, realizing our physical needs when we are weakened! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
