 “His Voice Today”

April 12

🔸️ Dedicating ourselves as “Living Sacrifice” is the proper Worship! 🔸

Has God ever called you like that hard call to sacrifice his own son Isaac? Or have your ears listened to the promises of comfort at all times? Oswald Chambers, a devotee said, “If we have not heard the voice of God calling for hard work, it is doubtful that God has ever spoken to us.”

But Abraham had the ear to hear God’s word! His heart was willing to obey whatever God commanded. So, soon after receiving the command, he hastened to obey God!!

The Scripture does not specify how he spent the night in which God spoke to His aged devotee. However, Abraham would not have slept that night. He would have often wake up that night and looked back with pity at his sleeping son. Abraham would have wept for the action he is going to do for his son when the morning dawns!

What a burden it must had been in Abraham’s mind to sacrifice his son at his old age! Whatever the price, he was wholeheartedly willing to obey God!!

When God called him out of the place ‘Ur’ about 50 years before, he did not want to take his hand from the plow and look back now! Instead, you know what he said:

“Oh God! give me the grace not to look back!
The handle of my plow was drenched with tears;
The alloy of the plow was also rusted….. but
My God! I don’t want to look back!
Please shower me with grace and rule over me!”
Thus he prayed.

He claimed that he was going to worship God. Oh! this is where we can understand the true meaning of “Worship” to some extent (Romans 12:1,2).

Prayer:
Dear Father! We have come to know that sacrificing ourselves as the “Living Sacrifice” is the appropriate Sacrifice for You, Lord! Bless us to have this true “worship” to continue daily in our lives! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
