“His Voice Today”

February 18
🔸️ The one who has dedicated everything is the ‘Disciple of Jesus’! 🔸️
What we own are our possessions! Jesus taught us to hate all of these and hereafter not to consider what we have, as our own (Luke 14:33).
The life of Abraham gives us an illustration of this. Abraham’s own son, Isaac was his possession! One day God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac who was his possession. So Abraham was ready to lay Isaac on the altar and to slaughter him! At this moment God hurriedly said, “Don’t put your hand on the child …”. When God saw that Abraham was ready to obey God, He interrupted (Genesis 22). Afterward, Abraham knew it deeply that although he kept Isaac in his house, he did not own him! Yes, this Isaac now belong to God!!
This means that we must abhor all our possessions. All our belongings should be placed on the altar and should be dedicated to God. Thus God may allow us to use some of what we have dedicated! But we can’t think that we owned that possessions for ourselves anymore.
Even if we live in our own house, we should have the feeling that the house belongs to God. We must thankfully remember that this good God has made us free of rent! This is the true discipleship.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father! Freed from the bondage of living life as “mine”, we dedicate our wholeness to You! Accept us too as the Disciples of Lord Jesus! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
