“His Voice Today”
December 17
🔸️ Everything must be done to God’s glory! 🔸
In Philippians 3:13 Paul said to “forget the latter.” What was behind Paul? A successful life and the powerful ministry he accomplished for God was behind Paul! But Paul removed them from his mind. Because he gave all glory to God for his life and for his ministry!
Jesus referred to the two crowds that would stood before him on Judgment Day. One crowd will say, “Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name”. But the Lord will say unto them, “I never knew you; Depart from me, you evildoers” (Matthew 7:22, 23).
But when the Lord refers to the second crowd, He will say, “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me”.
But they were seen as unaware of all these things done by them.
So, they will say, “Lord! when did we do all these to you? We don’t remember doing all these!” Ah…. how much awesome this is! Our good Lord hearing their response will say with pleasure, “Blessed are you! You are worthy to inherit my kingdom!”. (Matthew 25: 31-40).
A righteous man will do good….and when he finished it, he will forget them. But the unjust man will keep in the diary of his mind all the good he has done!!
Do we thus float in glory with self-awareness of all the good we have done for God and for others? Let’s be careful!
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father!
Since showing love and doing service have always been for God, give us the grace to remove the feeling of “I did”; In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
