🔸️ Not only forgiveness of sin, but also the Cross that triumphs over sin! 🔸
Jesus said “anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:27). “Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying His own cross, He went out to Golgotha…”(John 19:16-17) What other explanation needed than this, for ‘carrying his own cross’? That is, we give ourselves the opportunity to be crucified without any resistance and that is the exact meaning! Whoever realized the need for the Crucifixion, they will gladly fulfill it!!
The useless criminals will be crucified! Who would like to carry the Cross that he is going to be crucified on it? Those who find themselves guilty of useless in the flesh can thank for the opportunity to get rid of him now! Those who have found their own self is a hindrance to their happiness and for the spiritual growth, will crucify their flesh with joy!!
We have heard the singing of “Come to the shadow of the Cross.” But in the Scripture there is no mention for such a word! On the contrary, the Scripture says “Crucify with Christ!” or “On the Cross.” Perhaps the forgiveness of sins can be obtained under the shadow of this Cross. But victory over sin can never be achieved. That victory can only be obtained on the Cross! Those under the Cross, can do the sin. But those on the Cross, cannot do it!! May God open the eyes of many in these days to see the secret of this faith!!
Prayer:
Our Loving Father! Forgive our ignorance of not realizing the privileges of the Cross! Bless us to regain the missed privilege and to get victory over sin! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
