“His Voice Today”

February 12
🔸️ Divine Love should be the first position in our lives! 🔸
The first condition of discipleship is that we should cut off the ‘extraordinary’ love we have with our relatives (Luke 14:26).
Does it mean that we shouldn’t love them? No! certainly not!! When we lose our human love, God will fill that space with His divine love! Here only, the love for our relatives becomes pure. Yes, our love to our Lord God must always be the first and foremost….. instead, not relatives!
Many of us today disobey God for this first condition! But the Lord commands us to put Him first in our lives. If we don’t put Him first, then we can never be His disciples!
For this, let us look at Jesus as our example. He was responsible till the end, for His widowed mother. Even so, He never allowed His mother to interfere with Him even the slightest, to prevent Him from doing His Father’s perfect will!
For this, the Ghanaian wedding is a precedent. At that time, Jesus refused to do what His mother instigated! (John 2:4).
For Jesus’ love, the Father had always been in the first place. Jesus desires that we too have the similar attitude. After Jesus was resurrected, He said to Peter, “Peter, do you love me more than anything in this World?” (John 21:15-17) He asked very touchingly.
Can we, as the Psalmist say, “Who do I have in heaven but You?
And I desire nothing on Earth but You?” (Psalm 73:25). If we say so, then we are truly fulfilling the first condition of the Discipleship!!
Prayer:
Our loving Heavenly Father, we surrender ourselves, freeing from the human love, to the disciple’s life; we love You more than anything else. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
