“His Voice Today”

April 17
🔸️ To repent in failures, must have humble heart! 🔸️
Why did God take Saul’s “kingdom” for the ordinary mistake he had done that is considered normal by men? Further, why did God allow David to be the king, even after David committed adultery and then did the murder, which is considered to be greater sins?
The answer is: Once these two men know their sin, it was because of the way they behaved. Saul confessed his sin to Samuel “privately”! But before the people, he sought honour (1Sam. 15:30). He sinned. Nevertheless he expected the honour of humans too! David was not like that; But David, without concealing his sins, he accepted his sins openly and wrote Psalm-51 and made it known to everyone!!
What we learn from the way God dealt with these two men is: seeking the honour of humans… is greater sin than even the sins of adultery and murder… in the eyes of God. This is why Jesus was able to forgive the murderer on the Cross and the woman caught in adultery. But He could not forgive the Pharisees who continued to seek the glory of humans! Seeking the glory of humans is a form of idolatry. Further, the Lord is testing each of us more and more in this area! Blessed are those who win this test!!
If we humbly accept our past failures – they will not hinder us from fulfilling God’s purpose! For God is gracious to the humble.
Prayer:
Dear Father! You expect our humbleness, rather than our downfall. In our downfall, give us the good heart to humble ourselves and not to seek humans’ glory! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
